The Residency Conference of the Rockies was founded by CPS efforts in 2022 to offer a Colorado-based opportunity for PGY1 and PGY2 residents to present their year-long required research projects. Each year the conferences boasts over 20 residency programs in attendance. The conference includes a key note address, resident presentations, food and refreshments and a combined reception with the CPS Annual Meeting kick-off.
MISSION: To provide pharmacy residents and fellows an opportunity to present their major projects while also promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration among local residency programs.

Welcome to our second annual Residency Conference of the Rockies. This conference is designed to provide a well-rounded opportunity for residents to present their yearlong achievement, share their knowledge, and collaborate. Not only was the first year a great success and filled with high quality residency presentations, it provided a more local option for our Colorado and neighboring states to join a robust conference. Our preceptors service as clinical experts in a variety of specialties providing a high quality experience for our residents. We are grateful for our support from the Colorado Pharmacist Society (CPS) to help jump start the conference. It is our goal to continue and grow each year the Residency Conference of the Rockies. We hope to see you there!

After completing my undergraduate degree in biology and psychology at the University of Denver I went on to be a high school science teacher. Although I loved the content and interacting with students, I decided to apply to pharmacy school based off the recommendation of a close family member who was passionate about his role as a pharmacist. I attended the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and graduated in 2010.
After graduation, I completed a PGY1 residency at Lutheran Medical Center and a PGY2 residency in Ambulatory Care at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. I was then hired at Saint Joseph Hospital as the Kaiser Permanente Inpatient Clinical Pharmacy Specialist where I spent much of my time providing medication therapy management to seniors coming through the emergency room and rounding on patients residing on the internal medicine floor.
In April 2014, I decided to come back Lutheran where I was, and am still fortunate to be part of an amazing pharmacy and medical team and ensuring the best possible care to patients. In 2016, I moved into an Acute Care Supervisor role and eventually the Residency Program Director. During this time, I discovered my passion for leadership and helping our team grow into confident and competent clinical pharmacists. This passion led me to apply for the Clinical Manager position which I accepted officially in March of 2022. I love the challenges and interactions with our team this role presents daily. I am also grateful for the opportunities to be a part of Peaks Region Clinical Pharmacy team that makes significant decisions and process changes to improve the safety and care of our patients.
When I am not at Lutheran, I am either out trail running, mountain biking, skiing, traveling and most importantly, spending time with my wonderful husband, daughter, dog, family and friends.

CPS is proud to partner with a spectacular planning committee to offer a Colorado-based, affordable option for high-quality PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs in the region. Colorado is the perfect setting to showcase the excellent residency projects in our state and warmly welcome attendees from other states as well!
After a very successful inaugural meeting in 2022, we expect the 2023 RCOR to be an equally amazing. Our co-chairs Jody Adams and Maxie Friemel, as well as a dedicated planning committee, have worked hard to bring you a rewarding and invigorating day.
We also hope to see you all at the CPS 2023 Annual Meeting, an event full of networking, education and social events that immediately follows the RCOR on June 8-9, 2023 (discount registration available)!
Again, thank you for your support and kudos to a true team effort. Cheers to a great Colorado Conference and many more to come!
