THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL CPS 2023 ANNUAL Meeting!

The 2023 Colorado Pharmacy Society Annual Meeting was held on June 8 and 9 following the Colorado Residency Conference of the Rockies. A total of 218 attendees gathered in Black Hawk, Colorado, over the 3 days to re-connect with colleagues and forge new networks over presentations, roundtables, and lively discussions over relevant topics such as immunization accessibility, rare diseases, anticoagulation, and kindness. The breadth of scheduled activities covered interests of multiple practice areas and CPS practitioner types (students, technicians, or pharmacists)! There was even some fun networking games and a meme competition (make sure to stay tuned to future communications to see the best memes).  A post-meeting workshop was additionally offered for individuals interested in provider status.  Multiple members were recognized with awards during the awards ceremony for their service to the organization and profession. Key Note Speaker (Julissa Soto) at Annual Meeting
Colorado Pharmacists Society (CPS) was honored to welcome Julissa Soto as the esteemed keynote speaker at the CPS 2023 Annual Meeting in Black Hawk, CO.  Julissa delivered her impassioned talk entitled “A Call to Action:  Pharmacists Should Engage and Lead Health Equity in Communities!” to over 120 pharmacists, technicians and students who practice in all sectors of the healthcare industry.   Her message recognized pharmacy professionals as trusted members of many communities, and essential places of care for BIPOC communities. She highlighted the role of these accessible health care providers in a world where trust of the local and traditional healthcare system may not exist, and how pharmacists can and should help fill provider shortages for many individuals seeking advice and care.  Julissa roused the crowd and emboldened the pharmacy professionals with a message to stand up and be recognized and included for the amazing work they do, not just during a pandemic, but always.

We also honored outstanding individuals in the field of pharmacy at the Awards and Installation Dinner, as well as installed the  2023-2024 CPS Board of Directors!
